Good Afternoon CFTP Members,

What a crazy couple of weeks! We have pushed our limits and have come out on top. You all have impressed me so much with your determination and guts during thesetough workouts. Over the past 2 weeks I have seen the spectrum of emotions. I have had many of you come up and express both frustration and inspiration. These two feelings are essential to your success. You may wonder, “How could frustration be a good thing?” Well I will tell you. There is not one successful person out there who has never experienced frustration. Frustration, whether it be with a certain lift or a gymnastic movement, is essential to pushing you. If you are satisfied with your fitness level then you will have the tendency to get lazy and you will hit that “plateau”. This is why being challenged is essential. That sense of frustration and the “this is stupid” feeling will push your limits and I know you all have the mental fortitude and vision to push through it.

Now for those of you who felt inspired these past two weeks… Way to go. Ride that feeling. Many of you did things this past two weeks that you never have done before in your life. Many of you have taken on the challenge of doing muscle ups, handstand pushups, PRing your squat snatch, your deadlift, your squat clean and have achieved amazing feats. Many of you have accepted the challenge to join one of our WODsomniac teams this coming August knowing it will push your limits. Like I said earlier this week; you must decide you are going to do something and commit to it before you can work towards it. We are not fence sitters CFTP. We are leaders. We are the ones doing the work and putting in the effort. We shouldn’t have to be asked to join a challenge, we should go out and seek those challenges.

I am really excited for the next few months. I have seen things performed in the gym that I have never seen before. I have seen an excitement from all of you that pushes each and every one of us. You are there for you but you are also there for the others in the CFTP community. When you set that bar people take notice. When you quit people take notice. Working together is key to achieving our goals. As your coach I am super proud. As a fellow athlete I am a little nervous. You all are progressing so quickly that you are making me up my game. You are making me want to do an extra WOD, lift a little heavier, run a bit faster. You are pushing my limits and I love it. I am going to be straight forward with you. I want to be on that elite WODsomniac team. As an athlete I want that challenge but it is going to be a struggle for me to be that top athlete in the gym. I am going to do all I can to secure me a spot there but we are going to have those who are most ready be a part of those teams, no matter who it is. It is anyone’s game.

One last thing. I want to give a huge shout out to Hillary Waldron for all the extra work she has put into this upcoming Paleo Challenge. She has taken it upon herself to come up with a challenge and many of you have answered the call. I am excited to see your changes over the next month.

Stay tuned for some schedule changes that will begin this week.
