Good Afternoon CFTP Members,

I think this picture explains it all! You all are amazing. I love having you at the gym and I love the support and all the hard work you put in to make this gym special. This past weekend we had the opportunity to host an amazing throwdown put on by Gnarly. You all did not disappoint. We completed two WODs and I was beaming with pride as I saw each of you step to the plate and put forth your best effort. For some of you this was your first real CrossFit competition, for others you have done one or two in your life. Regardless of where each of you started Friday night, you all grew from the experience. I love seeing the growth in each of you each and every week. The thing I love most is that we are growing together.

I want to go through Friday just to show how special we really are here at CrossFit The Point. First off, the setup for the event was not going to be easy but as they say, “Many hands make light work.” We had so many people come and help out in preparation for this event. I couldn’t believe all the texts I was getting from members begging me to put them to work. This is not normal! What it is, is amazing! It shows us as a gym how far we have come. It makes me chuckle to look back and see Dave, Ryan, and myself riding down the freeway in Dave’s borrowed truck with a pullup rack hanging off the back hoping it was going to make it to the Bluffdale exit. Then the three of us putting our heads together the night before opening day back in April 2012 trying to figure out how this rack was going to be placed while Tara and Aubrey were cutting out flyers to paste around town. HEHE.

Our members, all of you, are amazing. You really do make CFTP special.

As the event began we were set and ready. We had our DJ in place and people began to come through the doors. As we went through the events all I had to do was ask for volunteers and there were a line of CFTP members ready to take on the task. Whether it was for judging or changing out weights, you were there to make the event happen. The transition time was seemless and we were able to get 90+ competitors through the two WODs in just over 3 hours. The atmosphere was amazing. There were times where I sat back and just watched as everyone cheered each other on. It was great to see the three gyms, really there were more like 5 or 6 different gyms representing, come together and cheer each other on. The CrossFit community is amazing and it was so special to see you all come together and make this throwdown special. I love working with SSCF and CMCF! They are amazing peeps and have two great ownerships.

As the event came to an end I didn’t even have to ask but before I knew it all the weights had been put away. After everyone left, the party had just begun as many of you went out to dinner. I wasn’t able to make it but it sounded like it was a blast.

I know I say this a lot but I love our gym! I hope you all learned something about yourself this past weekend. We all have weaknesses and we all have strengths. Each of us have a long way to go. We must stay dedicated in our training. It is time for CFTP to take the CrossFit community by storm. It’s all going to start at WODsomniac. From there we need to represent at IronWoRX. I will be approaching you in the next week or two to get teams together for IronWoRX. I want to have a couple of teams and a few individual athletes compete at this event. I did it last year and I know you all will enjoy it. Keep up the good work. I will be gone this next week but I will be watching the board. You have a great week of WODs scheduled and I expect nothing less than 100 percent from each of you. We have some great trainers at CFTP. Each of them bring a unique training style that will be beneficial to you. Listen to them and learn from them. I learn from them every time I get a chance to train with them.

Thanks again for being great and I will see you all in a week!

Dan
