Good morning CFTP,
First of all I have to say I have missed you this past week. Vacation was much needed but I really do miss being with you at the gym. I am very proud of all of you this past week. I had so many of you text and message me over this past week touting your accomplishments. I love hearing about all the PRs and all the new movements you conquered while I was out on a boat in the middle of Bear Lake. 🙂 I want to thank all the trainers who covered for me while I was on vacation. We have amazing trainers at CFTP.
This week is going to be amazing but before I get to that I want to talk about this past Friday night. We had our final installment of the Gnarly Throwdown. It was held at SSCF and I am so happy I was able to make it back to watch two of our own end up on the podium. Nick Navarro and Emily Comstock both walked away with a third place finish. The final WOD was brutal but both of them worked hard all the way to the end. It was amazing to watch. What I may have loved the most was the support they had. You all had their back. When the WOD seemed like too much to handle you were there to urge them forward. Thank you.
Now onto the exciting event this coming weekend. We have 30 competitors in WODsomniac!! 30!!! Teams have shifted a bit but when I look down the list of teams I see amazing strength and endurance. I could have thrown any of you on any team and we would be competitive. I am so lucky to have so many willing competitors at our gym. Your dedication makes my job so much easier. Since we decided to do 7 teams we have had injuries and personal conflicts come up that has sidelined a few of you but because of all the hard work each of our athletes put in at the gym I was able to find someone ready at a moments notice. While it is impossible to replace any individual athlete it is great to know that we have people who are so willing and who can come in and compete at a high level any time we need them. Thank you for that. The teams for WODsomniac are as follows:
Team 8 (CFTP/CMCF mix)
Caleb Deibert (CFTP)
Am Smith (CFTP)
The event will start Friday at 6 PM and will go until Saturday at 6 PM. Please come out and support. It is an amazing event and we are so excited to be a part of it. If you are able to volunteer I know WODsomniac is looking for volunteers. There are a total of 8 WODs and our athletes will need all the support we can get when our tanks start to run low with no sleep. You need to be our energy drink at 5, 6,7,8, or 9 AM Saturday morning when we are barely running on fumes.
I am happy to be back and can’t wait to get training with you guys and girls this coming week. This week is WODsomniac week… So even if you didn’t sign up this go around you will still feel the pain of WODsomniac throughout the week. Thanks again for making The Point the best CrossFit community out there.
