Good morning CFTP,

I would like to go through a couple of things today. First off I would like to go through some of the changes coming up in the near future and then I would like to spotlight our trainer LaDee.

So, starting this week we will have Jeremy Clifford, Powerlifter, come in on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 PM to teach us how to be better power lifters. We will continue to have the 6:30 PM Olympic lifting classes on Thurdays with Hayden Barnes and Yoga on Saturday mornings. The reason I mention these specialty classes is I want you to know that my goal is to make you the best. My goal is to make CFTP a place where everyone can succeed to become stronger and to meet his or her goals. With that in mind I have to step back and realize that although I have strengths I also have many weaknesses. Not everyone is going to be the best at everything. Therefore, I am going to seek out the best and bring them into the gym. These specialty courses will bring a point of view to your training that you can’t get elsewhere. Completing the daily WOD is awesome but when you go above and beyond and seek out your weaknesses and do your best to become a more rounded athlete that is when you will see change. I am really excited for the changes that are happening at CFTP. I love all the trainers we have coming in and coaching. Every coach at our gym brings a uniqueness that will make you a better athlete. Listen to your coaches. They care about your success.

Each and every one of our trainers care greatly about you succeeding. One instance sticks out and I would like to share it with you. While down at Black Sheep Invitational last weekend we were on our last event and we were all rooting Dannon on. In this final WOD you had to complete a total of 200 double unders. Dannon has always struggled with double unders and we have been working hard to help him get them down before this weekend. As he began his double unders he did better than he ever has before. His hard work had paid off but the thing I remember most about that moment is when he finished and went down to his bear crawls Jaimee came up to me and she said “I am so proud of him! He has his double unders!” It seems like a small thing but it was very emotional for Jaimee and I to see our athlete succeed. I got a little choked up as I saw how much our trainers care about the success of our CFTP athletes.

Every day that you come into the gym our goal is to push you to be your best. I want to create an environment where you feel comfortable pushing yourself to the max. I want you to be able to get the help you need on your weaknesses. Thank you all for your hard work and continual dedication to fitness.

Now let’s learn a bit about our beloved Coach LaDee. This is her bio.

My love of sports began as a young child where I was a high school cross country and track athlete

which led me to compete at the collegiate level at the University of Utah. I graduated with a Master’s

degree in Exercise Physiology and began a career working with cardiac and pulmonary patients. I

enjoyed writing exercise prescription and programs for these patients, especially the work I did with the

Cystic Fibrosis patients. I complimented my love for anatomy and physiology with a license in Massage

Therapy.

After some events in my life, I decided to change career paths and for the past 13 years I have worked

with High Risk Leukemia and Bone Marrow Transplant patients. This job has given me a love for life

and I’m so amazed at the people I meet that get through such adversities. I have learned to enjoy every

minute of every day because you never know what your future holds for you.

I began Crossfit in the summer of 2011. My addiction began with a small group of friends in a garage

gym. It soon became such a big part of my life and thankfully I’m able to share that love of Crossfit with

my kids as well. Crossfit is a beautiful way for people to get dramatic changes in their bodies and builds

such mental toughness. I see members whose self-confidence just soars after only a few months of

Crossfit. I love being able to be a part of that and look forward to many more years of being a member

of such a beautiful and positive Crossfit family.

I love have Coach LaDee at CFTP. She does a great job and brings some good experience into the gym. Here’s to another awesome week at CFTP.
