Good morning CFTP,
I love this time of year! I am excited to be spending it with you all. Today I would like to spotlight all of you. Yesterday, as we were collecting all of the gifts for this year’s sub for santa drive I was amazed, once again, at your generosity. We put those tags up on the tree and within 2 days you all had cleared the tree. I had people coming in asking me if there was any way they could contribute. We are putting together these packages and I am sure these families will greatly appreciate each and every one of you. So thank you so much for contributing to this worthy cause.
The holiday season is just beginning and we plan on doing another fundraiser soon. Keep your eyes peeled for another chance to contribute here in the next couple of weeks. If you have any ideas or you are involved in any kind of fundraising or you yourself know of someone in need please don’t hesitate to ask. We are a part of an amazingly generous community and I know that we can make a difference in the lives of many people.
Before I finish I would like to make a couple of quick announcements. As we start to grow as a gym and as we each start to have individual goals and programs come up I want to make sure that we are courteous to those at the gym who are WODing. I have no issues with you doing your special strength programs, I even encourage it, but just be aware of the members who are in for the daily WOD. The class gets priority for gym space during WOD time. Also be courteous of the coach. Nothing is more annoying than trying to explain a WOD and to have someone in the background dropping 225 pounds to the ground or people/kids running around yelling as you are trying to teach someone the art of the clean. Just be aware of your surroundings. I love that we all love each other and want to stick around and talk, please continue this. But use the front area for conversations while the other classes are warming up and getting ready for the WOD.
To help alleviate some of this distraction from now on we will be having open gym during the 7:30 pm class times. The trainer will still be present and will still be running through the WOD for those individuals who want to do the WOD but if you want to come in and work on your own stuff then 7:30 PM would be the time to do this. If you can’t make it for the 7:30 PM class just try and be courteous during your strength programs. I hope that this will help open up some time for you individuals who are on your strength programs.
Also don’t forget about our specialty classes at 6:30 PM on Tuesdays (Power lifting with Charms) and Thursdays (Olympic Lifting with Hayden). Also, for the remaining month of December there will be no yoga on Saturdays. We will start it back up in January.
We currently have a Groupon circulating. If you have friends or family who have showed interest please have them pick one up. It’s a great gift for the holidays. The gift of fitness and community. Because we will be having so many new people coming in over the next month or two starting next week December 16 and 18, Monday and Wednesday, the 6:30 PM class will be dedicated to foundations. Therefore there will be no regular WOD during this time. This week is unchanged but just as a heads up those 6:30 classes will be changing. I will make this announcement again next week.
This week was full of announcements but hopefully this helps make things run a bit smoother at our gym. I really do appreciate all you do.
