Good evening CFTP,
Sorry for the late post. I know for many of you this week has been tough. The announcement from Dave Castro for 14.2 was a surprise for many people. We had so many of you sign up and for many of you who signed up Overhead Squats and C2B Pullups aren’t exactly your cup of tea. The thing I was most impressed with were those who took the challenge on and worked and did the best you could. You all accepted the task at hand with little or no complaining. I have still yet to attempt 14.2 but your courage has bolstered up my confidence and I can’t wait to take it on tomorrow.
We are now two weeks into the Open and I am so proud of you all. Every week you are doing things that you have never done before. How many of you did a chest to bar pullup for the first time? How many of you got 95 pounds or 65 pounds on your OHS for the first time? I have said it before and I will say it again, competitions bring out the best in all of us. We learn so much from the challenge. In the open we aren’t allowed bands… So you are forced to try and try and try until the time is up. You all have done that and I applaud you for it. I am so impressed with the attitude you all bring to the table. Not one of you complained when I no repped you. I know how frustrating it can be but you just accepted it and tried again. That is what CrossFit teaches us. Even when we fail there is another opportunity to succeed.
So if you feel like this week was a fail for you. Keep your head up and look at what you have accomplished. Then prepare yourself for next week that I am sure will be full of a whole new list of challenges.
