Good morning CFTP,
First and foremost… What an amazing weekend for our competitors! First there was Carriann placing 3rd in her age group at her Tri down in Vegas. Then our three little ladies all sat atop the podium up in Salt Lake at the Teen Gauntlet. Podium for our athletes… Just such an amazing experience and beautiful thing to watch. So much hard work went into getting up on the podium and I am proud of the effort and the result. Good job ladies!
I would like to piggy back off of these experiences to express a couple of my thoughts. First off, hard work does pay off. These ladies put their hearts and souls into training. They are in the gym every day and they work on their weaknesses and build up their strengths. They are dedicated and strive for greatness each and every workout. It is inspiring to watch. Consistency is the key to success. Any of us can go hard for a day or even a week and maybe even a month but the measure of success is being able to push hard when the excitement of goal setting wears off. Doing the things we hate and focusing on things that we aren’t great at. That is true success.
The second thing I have observed from these experiences this weekend is that we are harder on ourselves than we need to be. Competitiveness is a good thing. I love that we want to be number one. I love that we are disappointed when we don’t reach the top but at then end of the day we need to be proud of our accomplishments. Take a moment to relish in your triumph. Enjoy yourself in the moment… Then you can go back to the drawing board to figure out how to overcome your weaknesses but we if we don’t step back and enjoy ourselves in our victories then we have failed.
I am truly proud of our gym and our supporters that go and support our competitors. I appreciate the family atmosphere. When one of our members is successful we all are successful. When one of our members struggle we are all in the pit with them. We have a lot of work ahead of us to get to our goals but I know that CFTP is and will continue to be competitive in any competition we throw ourselves at. Keep up the good work. I need consistency, as always. We are starting another strength program and I can’t wait to help you all accomplish your lifting goals. See you all in the box!
