Good Afternoon CFTP,
Great week once again. I want to first and foremost congratulate Shayne Day on completing his first CrossFit competition. Shayne competed in Fitness Elevated and out of 50+ elite athletes he placed 7th! I am so proud of Shayne and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this all around athlete.
On that note I want to thank everyone who came out to support Shayne. It was so cool to hear our CFTP peeps out in the stands yelling for Shayne and pushing him to another level. That level of support is unmatched and I appreciate it so much. When CFTP has any athlete involved in a competition you better believe there is going to be a cheering section!
Friday night was a blast! We had 78 of our members at the newest Hunger Games movie. I love hanging out with all of you. It is so amazing that we don’t only come to the gym and push each other to be stronger and happier but we are able to have that relationship outside the gym as well. It was such a special night for me and I can’t wait to do more things like this with all of you.
Recently I found a video done for the Alabama Football team. I am not a huge fan of their team but this was put together from a speech from one of the most out spoken and influential war heroes of our time; Marcus Latrell. He went through an experience and has been willing to share his experience to better the lives of others. I want you all to watch this and really focus on the end of the speech. He talks about what it means to be a team. I count you all as my teammates and that is what makes The Point so special. We fight for each other and we are in this fight together.
Take a listen. (There is some colorful language so be aware.)
