Good Afternoon CFTP,
A couple of announcements before I get into what I want to talk about today. First of all congratulations to Coach Charms in performing so well in his Power Lifting meet this past weekend. He is a great example of a coach that leads by example.
I’d also like to remind everyone who is interested in purchasing a hoodie for $35 to be sure to put your order in by Wednesday. You have your choice of every color that is offered and my goal is to get them here and printed by Christmas or at the latest New Years. You can find more information about them on our Facebook page or ask me.
Finally, I’d like to remind you all of our upcoming in house competition starting in January. We have to get everyone signed up ASAP, so get your teammate and come on in and get signed up before January 1st. I will post the details below:
Attention ALL CrossFit The Point Athletes!!!
We are excited to announce our very own, exclusive in-house competition called…
It is a 5 week, 2 Male team or 2 Female team competition consisting of both scaled and RX divisions.
Here’s how it works;
There will be a total of 5 workouts throughout this event, with the finals being a “Beast Mode” WOD.
There will be both scaled and RX divisions, but Teams must remain in the division they initially selected.
There will be a “WOW” (Workout of the Week) announced and posted every Sunday on the “Sunday Spotlight” Starting on January 4th.
Teams will then have from Monday until Saturday at midnight to complete and submit a score for the WOW.
Teams must have a third party athlete judge their WOW’s. (That means anyone, other than your teammate, may judge your workouts)
Teams may repeat the WOW to improve their score, but the final score card must be signed by a judge and submitted by midnight on Saturday in order for it to count.
The cost will be: $30 per team
There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams in both scaled and RX divisions. (Depending on number of sign ups)
This is a great way to get ready for the CrossFit Open!
So pick a CrossFit The Point Teammate, get registered, and get ready for January 4th!!
If you decide you want to go Rx you must be able to do the following as a minimum requirement:

I am so excited for this upcoming competition. We have so many strong men and women in our gym and always bring such a great following to different competitions. This will be a way that we can all compete together and provides a situation that will allow for all of us to compete. It doesn’t matter if you decide to go into the Rx or the scaled version of this comp you will be pushed to become stronger and prepare you for the 2015 CrossFit Games Open.
I feel I have given you all enough to think about for this Sunday but before I end I’d like to share with you one more thing. As many of you know, this past week I got really sick in the middle of the week. What many of you may or may not know is that I have goals for the upcoming race season which requires me to run 20+ miles every week until the first race. Well because I was sick I missed three to four days and therefore fell short of my goal. The reason I bring this up is because many of us set goals and when we don’t meet them or if we falter we get down on ourselves and then the whole progression stops and we give it all up and it takes us weeks to recover.
Don’t let this happen to you! Just because you had one bad day, week, or even month. Recommit now to not let those bumps slow down your progression more than they have. Get back on track and continue down your path. It doesn’t matter how badly you feel you have failed yourself or others the only way to get over the feeling of failure is to work towards your next success! A success will, many times, erase your failure.
