Good morning CFTP,
I had such an awesome time with all of you at our Fall BBQ. Missed those of you who couldn’t make it… Hopefully you can make it to our next event.
Today is going to be an announcement heavy spotlight. I am super excited for the next 4 weeks. We are hosting our annual in-house competition called the CFTP LOCKDOWN. In this competition we will have one WOD announced weekly each Wednesday, starting this Wednesday. You and your teammate will have from Wednesday until Saturday to complete the WOD (some exceptions will be allowed). We will be doing the WOD as a gym every week on Fridays. You will only have one attempt at each WOD. You will need a judge for your WOD completion. You will turn your scorecards in and every Sunday I will put all the scores into the system to see where you end up.
The awesome thing about this competition is that it will be for everyone. Anyone can and should sign up. There will be two divisions: Rx and Scaled. Rx athletes must be able to complete the following list of movements:
Overhead Squats 95/65
If you are unable to accomplish any of these movements then you will sign up for the scaled division.
The teams will be set up into 2-person teams. Guy/Guy or Girl/Girl. So find your partner and get signed up! We are doing something exciting this year. We will be using the proceeds to go towards a charity that is helping Veterans with PTSD. We will still be providing prizes for the winners. Here is the charity we will be choosing! Warrior Camp. Trauma and Resiliency Resources.
The registration will be $40/team. Last year we had such awesome participation and I am so excited to be able to take these proceeds and make a difference in the lives of these warriors. I am a prior service member and many of these individuals who attend this warrior camp are people I know personally. I will be giving the check to Paul Diamond who is running this year’s Warrior Camp here in Utah. He needs a couple thousand dollars to pay for the event so hopefully this Lockdown can make a dent in the expenses. They just found out the National Ability Center did not get the grant needed to run this event so I am hoping we can jump in and help out.

Time to start texting your gym buddy and get them on board!
