Good Afternoon CFTP,
First of all I am so happy to see CrossFit Kids come back! Huge thank you to Coach LaDee and Coach Maya for heading this thing up. This week we will have the kiddos there at 4 PM on Tuesday but there will be no Thursday class. I love seeing these little people working hard and having fun while learning life lessons of staying in shape.
As far as schedule this week. We will have 3 classes on Thanksgiving morning; 6, 7, and 8 AM. Black Friday will be 7, 8, 9 and 10 AM METCON class. I hope that you all can make these hours work for you.
Today, I want to touch on the value of effort. I have been thinking a lot about a group of you and have something to say. I know you have been struggling to get going again. I know that, for whatever reason, getting to the gym has been a struggle as of late. I want to tell you to commit to come in tomorrow. Don’t wait until “the perfect WOD” or until “things settle down at work” or “until I get in better shape” or whatever reason you have been telling yourself.
That first time back after an extended period away can be intimidating. You will not be at the same level you were when you stopped coming. The WOD may seem intimidating when it gets posted tonight. That is ok. That is what CrossFit is all about. The WODs are there to challenge you and the trainers are there to modify for you. No matter what level you are at or how long it’s been since you have been to the box, we can make the WOD work for you.
Many times in our lives it just takes that one time. It takes that little bit of effort to change you. To change the path you are on. It takes that one commitment that you make with yourself to finally start on the path to your true potential but if you never take that step you may never realize just how far you can go.
So I invite you to make tomorrow the day that you change the path you are on. Make the commitment to yourself that you are going to do something that is going to change your way of life. For those of you who do come… Make a commitment to do something more; to eat better, to push harder, to set goals and achieve them. Do something different than you are doing now. We all should be looking for ways to improve our lives. The minute we get stagnant, that’s when our progress ends.
I look forward to this week! Can’t wait to see you all.
