First of all… Congratulations to all of our teams that competed yesterday in the Team Chainbreaker Throwdown. It was really fun to watch you all compete. It was really cool to see many of you complete your first ever competition and to do so well. I hope to see you all compete more in the future.
It’s June 25th… That means “Salute The Point” is just around the corner. Salute The Point will be starting on July 1st just as it has the past two years. This will be year three and for the most part everything is staying the same. All but one thing… There will be a limit on the amount of referrals we allow in at the 3 months for $150 deal.
So… What is “Salute The Point”?
Many of you know what it is because that is how you started at The Point. Salute The Point is a month long referral program that gives you a deal to present to your friends. The deal is 3 months for $150 and in the past two years we have had great success bringing in new friends to try The Point. We had 99 in 2015 and 100 in 2016. Like I said above, this year there will be a cap because of the size of our current membership.
Why do we do “Salute The Point”?
There are many reasons why we started this program. For one, many of our friends look at the price of a CrossFit membership and are automatically turned off because we live in a world of $10/month gym memberships. These 3 months gives them a chance to see the worth of what CrossFit The Point has to offer and gives them a true trial period to see if it’s something they would like to do. It’s also a price that is just enough to keep them committed. I’ve learned in the past that if you put your money in, you are more likely to follow through.
How does “Salute The Point” benefit the current member?
#1: This is a chance for you to share something that has changed the way you look at fitness and for many of you, have changed your whole outlook on health. This is an excuse for you to bring up CrossFit to family and friends and hopefully it will be a chance for those family and friends to make real change in their lives.
#2: Our biggest improvements to the gym have come from “Salute The Point” and the 2 competitions we run each year. It is an influx of money that we put back into the gym for our members. So, while the gym gets busy for a few months, for those members who stay, the gym gets a much needed influx of equipment.
How does “Salute The Point” work? How do you win prizes?
We all know that this is the most important part of the whole thing! How do you win? Every day in the month of July I will be posting a post about “Salute The Point” on my instagram page and on my CrossFit The Point Facebook page (This is the public page and not the private member’s page). Every day, you will have a chance to get your name put into a weekly drawing 5 times! By the end of the week you could have your name in there 30 times.
How do you get your name in the drawing?

At the end of each week I will put all the names into a system and draw out a random number. If your number comes up… You win!
The second way to win is to bring in the most referrals. At the end of the month there will be a podium of winners. First, Second and Third place.
What do you win?
It will depend on each week. At the beginning of the week I will announce what is up for grabs for the weekly drawing. This year, I will be giving away a pair of shoes every week along with other items which could include Damage Plan swag, Knee Sleeves, Hylete gear, and much more.
The top three referral getters will receive free months of membership, Hylete gear, shoes, etc. The grand prize winner will walk away with over $800 in prizes…
The grand total of giveaways during this month will total well over 4 grand!!!
I know that the influx of new members can be an inconvenience on some of our classes with the extra people coming in and that is why we decided this year to limit it. You all have been awesome the past two years and I love building our gym around amazing people. Because you are awesome, I know that the friends you bring in will be awesome.
HUGE WARNING: Once this deal is over, it is over. We only run this deal once a year. We will not offer it again until July of next year, so if you have friends and family that want to give The Point a try, this is the time. I know you all have had people ask you when The Point will be running a deal… This is it! Take advantage of it while it’s around.

Today we get to spotlight Cammie Arnoldus!
Regional operations manager at a Transportation insurance company (super exciting stuff )
Wandered around Planet Fitness pretending to work out.
Rope climbs. I remember when I first started thinking there was no way in hell that I will ever be able to do that.
Don’t be intimidated by the weights. I know it’s new and scary, but we were all there once. I remember hating wods that had any kind of barbell movement because I was so scared of looking stupid and asking questions.
I love me some kettlebells! Give me anything with a kettlebell and I’m a happy girl.
For some sick and twisted reason, I love the Filthy Fifty.
I would super love to get a bar muscle up.
I wanted to try Crossfit for about a year before we ever signed up. I was nervous to try because I thought it would be one more “gym” membership that I would pay for but never use. Clearly, I was wrong.
I signed Steve and I up for Crossfit because we both were told that we had high cholesterol and Steve was pre-diabetic. (Also, I secretly hoped that Crossfit would make me skinny). Crossfit and CFTP have helped both of us overcome our health issues. We are both healthier now than we have been in 20 years – our cholesterol is normal and Steve isn’t even close to pre-diabetic anymore. Crossfit has taught us so much about the importance of not only working out, but how to balance our eating habits. I realized early on that Crossfit was making my relationship with Steve stronger than ever. We started this journey together and we have endured “the suck” together and now we are closer and our marriage is stronger than ever.
I no longer want to be skinny. I want to be healthy and STRONG.
I love my CFTP Family – I have met the most amazing people and have made life long friendships!
Dan, Dave and all of the coaches at CFTP have my sincere appreciation for helping us to change our lives forever.
Coach Dan: I freaking love this woman! She has been with The Point for 4 years and I can’t imagine The Point with her. She is sincere and tells it how it is. I think the best way to describe her is tough. The other day she came in and said, “This is going to suck but let’s do it”. She’s not afraid to get her hands dirty and to work hard. She is a friend to everyone and very sincere.
As an athlete, she has constantly improved and every time I get to coach her I see improvements from the last time I coached her. Persistent and consistent.
Coach Am: “Cam is the sunshine on a bad day, she’s the warm hug and the genuine smile!
She works hard and achieves everything she wants. She’s a superstar in life, she’s an incredible mother an amazing athlete and the best friend anyone could ask for! Proud of her constant hard work! I love that lady so much!!”
Coach JoAnn: “I may have coached Cammie a few times, but mostly I see her at Beastmodes or at The Open wods that The Point hosts. She is genuine, funny and a friend to everyone. When she wods she gets work done, doesn’t matter if it’s something she loves or something she hates. Just hard work! Her whole family is awesome, and we are lucky to have them at CFTP!”
Coach Mandy: “got the pleasure of competing with her yesterday! She is an awesome person! Not only is she tough physically but you can also tell she is tough mentally!! I hope I get to do another Comp with her again sometime!!”
Love you all!
