Good Afternoon CFTP,
Two more days left of Salute The Point. We will do the final drawing on Wednesday at the conclusion of the month long referral competition.
Last night, as the small group of us got together to WOD at Beast Mode, I came to a conclusion that I think I may have lost touch of for a bit. In the hustle and bustle of running the gym and trying to make it work and make enough money to continue to provide the services we do at The Point, I seemed to forget how it all started.
How it all started for me was a group of friends working out together. We were in a regular Globo Gym in Mosul Iraq… There were no bumper plates, no rings, no kettle bells, no climbing ropes, no jump ropes, no rowers, no bikes, and no trainers. Stuff we enjoy day in and day out here at The Point. Yet, me and my buddies were able to put the work in and were able to bond and get fitter. It wasn’t about all the trinkets and doodads that we now seem to need to workout.
Then I thought about when I got back from Iraq and thought about CrossFit Cedar Ridge… My first official CrossFit gym was in a barn on the owner’s property! A BARN! Ceilings were barely tall enough to do wall balls. We tied rings to a tree outside to do muscle ups. If we had more than 10 people in a class we had to, at times, share equipment. And guess what? It was awesome!
Why do we do Salute The Point? Is it to make money? Not entirely. The true reason we started Salute The Point instead of doing the old Groupon way of packing our gym is because I want you to experience what I experienced and continue to experience. I want you to bring your friends in to build those memories of hard workouts. I want them to experience what we take for granted. I don’t know what I would do without CrossFit.
There are only two days left for you to get your friends in on this awesome deal. Give your friends a chance to experience life changing results and for them to build memories. Your friends want and need CrossFit. They just don’t know how to get started. We have developed a stellar on-ramping that is better than it has ever been. We are more experienced working with new people. We are ready to give a good experience to your friends. We just need you to invite them in.
