Our Trainers

Dan Adamson

I was injured back in 2006 playing soccer which caused an early onset of arthritis in my lower back.  The only way to cure it, according to doctors, was to build my core.  I tried for years to strengthen my core without much success.  After running more than 2 miles my back would ache and I would be unable to continue.  When I first started CrossFit I was a skeptic because when I looked at the exercises I knew they would kill my back.  Within three months of doing the CrossFit program I felt as if I had been given a new lease on life. My back has never been so strong.

I started CrossFit while deployed to Iraq and saw huge improvements in not only myself but my whole team.  Our Physical Fitness Test scores all improved and I got my first perfect score. Not only did our scores improve but it better prepared us to go out on our missions and prepared us for most all situations.  CrossFit is very applicable to every aspect of our lives.

CrossFit is for all kinds of people.  Anyone can do it.  CrossFit is adaptable to each individual physical shape.  I know that if you give CrossFit a chance it will change the way you look at fitness and the way you live your life.

I got my CrossFit level one training certificate in July of 2011 and this has opened the door for me to train others in something that has quite literally changed my life. I know CrossFit will continue to grow and will touch the lives of many others.  I look forward to being a part of this growth and to facilitate in the progression of athletes toward their personal goals.

I started CrossFit in May 2012, and it’s hard to believe how far I’ve come in such a short time! As an ex-college athlete, I’ve spent the last 10 years looking for an exercise program that works for me. I’ve tried various gyms, programs such as p90x, running, etc. It seemed that no matter what I tried it became monotonous. I missed the competiveness I had in college, I got bored quickly working out in front of the TV and running wasn’t working well because I started getting knee pain. I needed something exciting and out of the ordinary, something that would challenge me and push me to my limit. Then, fortunately, my friend talked me into coming to CFTP. I planned to try it out for a month to see if I liked it, but I was hooked after the first week! I love the welcoming environment, the encouragement from trainers and other athletes, the feeling of exhaustion after a particularly painful WOD, and most of all I love setting personal goals and doing things I never thought I could.

So five months later my knee pain is gone, I feel as strong as I’ve ever been, and I look forward to every workout because they never get boring! I’m currently 18 weeks pregnant and I plan on doing CrossFit throughout my pregnancy. I’ve already seen a huge difference and I’m excited to see how the remainder of my pregnancy and delivery goes. CrossFit has become a big part of my life and I’m so grateful for the difference it has made. I look forward to many years of health and wellness because of this awesome program!

I’m so excited to be a trainer at CFTP!! I love working with all of the amazing athletes and watching everyone’s progress. I have learned so much and I look forward to increasing my knowledge and skills, and helping others do the same.

CrossFit is for everyone; every shape, and every size. It is a constant challenge against yourself; striving to get stronger, faster, and healthier than the day before. That is the beauty. It is the hardest, most rewarding thing I have ever done. I believe in CrossFit.

I started CrossFit in November of 2011, and have had a love/hate relationship with it ever since. Love: because it has changed my body and my life significantly; and hate: because I have been sore everyday for over a year.
When I was 17 years old, I went through a life change, and during that 6 ½ month change, I gained over 75 pounds and had never felt worse about myself. I tried EVERYTHING to get back to even a reasonable weight and size. I spent hundreds of dollars on a gym pass to Gold’s Gym and a personal trainer for a year. I tried strict cardio, all the dieting fads and nothing was working. It was one of the hardest times in my life because of the embarrassment, frustration, and idleness I was feeling. I knew something had to change. When I moved back to Utah in 2011, one of my best friends introduced me to CrossFit. She had been doing it for 4 months and was losing incredible amounts of weight and size. I told her that I would promise 2 weeks, and that I would decide after that if I would continue. Here I am, 15 months later, 20+ pounds down, and feeling/looking better than I ever have. In a little over a year of CrossFit, I have seen remarkable changes in my body, health and mind. I believe in CrossFit.
Dan and I trained together when I first started in 2011. When he opened his box, there was no question in my mind about following, and supporting his new gym. First, a member at The Point, now a trainer/member, I can vouch that the community at CrossFit The Point is nothing short of spectacular!  I am so excited to train with all of the current and upcoming members at this box, and to watch everyone achieve the goals they have set for themselves!
