2025 CrossFit Open

Two more weeks until the open begins! We've been organizing this event and are preparing for another year with the best community we can think of! Sign up! And then get your friends to sign up. It's going to be a lot of fun.

# 1: SIGN UP!

This is what sets this competition apart from your day-to-day workouts. Investing a little more shows it means a little more. These workouts are different. It’s worth it!

You can sign up now through games.crossfit.com for $20*, or you can sign up for just an in-house competition at CFTP. This will also be $20, and you sign up here OR, you can donate an item that we will raffle off that is worth the same amount as an entrance fee (more on the raffle below! JoAnn will be your contact point to donate to the raffle). Once you are signed up you will be put on a team, so this will be both an individual and competition.

# 2: T-Shirts.

Completely optional this year. Some of us love them, some of us say we have enough (is that possible?!), so they are being sold separately for $25. These orders start this week and end on February 14. Here is the link to order your T-shirt!

# 3: Friday Night Lights (FNL).

Each week of the open we will host a FNL where we will get the workout in, have judges, and be cheered on by others doing the same thing. Some of my favorite memories have been at these nights. Fun themes, some snacks, and great people. Pictures are taken during the workouts so we don’t forget any of it.

Point 4: The Raffle.

Each week we will be raffling off items that have been donated (as mentioned above, to replace the entrance fee) and items that have been purchased with the money collected. You earn tickets by accomplishing items from a list that will be posted the week before the open begins. Tickets will be passed out at FNL, and you must be present to win.

I can’t wait for the Open to begin, and to test my fitness with all of you at the best place there is!

*CrossFit is doing something new this year: The Community Cup. It is taking place after the Open, and you will be competing against athletes that placed similar to you in the open. If you are interested in this, you need to sign up online through games.crossfit.com.

Level Method Testing

Did anyone test their upper body pull and upper/lower endurance last week? I see that Bubba and Andrew both did! We put these workouts on the Monday workout list in the Chalk it Pro app. You don't have to do them Monday but I suggest if you haven't tested the floating Level Method workouts in a while, then try to work it into your week when they come up.

This week we will be doing the Aerobic Power Intervals test and the Upper Body Push assessment. Take a look at the week and see what day makes sense for you to get these two tests in instead of the programmed workout. If you have never tested any of the Level Method Assessments, this is your chance to start getting your levels set and see where you are and what you can do to improve.

Programming

We are coming up on the end of the back squat/bench press/snatch cycles! Who is ready to PR?! We are getting heavy this week but are not maxing yet. You will have a couple of weeks to attempt maxes soon. Let your body feel the heavy single weight this week in preparation for what we hope to be a new max coming soon!

Final Thoughts

The open to me has some of my favorite CrossFit memories. I can think back and every year athletes achieve something new that they have never done. First pull-up. First muscle up. First time handstand walking. New lift PR. The list goes on and on and this year with how we are setting up the Friday Night Lights to be a competition and fun atmosphere, I believe we will see many many more.

The only way for you to be part of this is to sign up and go all in. I don't care if you sign up on the games site or through us directly. I just want to have you on my team and I want to see you push yourself.

If you have questions about what this is all about, please don't hesitate to email me or message me.
