Good evening CFTP
Excited to be back! Thank you all for spreading the word about our July Special. I will still need to sit down and tally all the referrals to see who won the contest. I will make sure to get that done by next Sunday.
Consistency
Quick note. I had an experience this past week. I have been planning on running my hometown 5k and was excited because of all the work I have been putting in on the pavement.
Well leading up to the even this past Friday night, I had a rough go. First I was on vacation and did not work out at all. Secondly, while on "vacation" I was super busy working on the upcoming soccer tournament I am hosting this week. So I had two nights where I literally slept 2 hours total. So I traveled back from Bear Lake exhausted and having ate terribly.
I had a thought of backing out of the race. I was in no mental or physical condition to run it. But I pushed through and went.
The race was rough and I felt the lack of food and rest set in with about a mile left but I completed the race and got a 20:55 time! This placed me 3rd in the race and 1st in the 25-40 year old age group. Great finish for me and I was happy.
Now the lesson that I learned. Don't allow one bad week of fitness ruin all the work you put in through the year. I had ran over 250 miles over the past 3 months and that training prepared me for the race. Sometimes life gets in the way and we allow those bad weeks to turn into bad months and then bad years.
The sooner you can get back on routine and back to training the better.
See you at the box!
